Synthesis of nanostructured zeolitic materials with different channel typology and different acidity (quantity of acid sites and Brønsted/Lewis distribution); synthesis of zeolite materials with hierarchical structure; synthesis of MOF (Metal Organic Framework).
In particular, the research activity is focused on some industrial chemistry processes that are of particular interest for the production of biofuels and/or chemicals: great attention is paid to the effect of the deactivation of the catalysts (formation and determination of the nature of the coke). Particular importance is given to the analytical part of characterization through FT-IR, NMR, diffractometry, thermogravimetric analysis (TG, DSC, DTA), TPD-NH3, TPR, GC-MS techniques.
